The Nobel Prize consists of a gold medal, a diploma and a variable sum of money. Swedish chemist Alfred Nobel, inventor of dynamite, left a fortune of 6 million dollars, whose annual interest is divided among those who have distinguished themselves and provided good service to the humanity. In addition to medicine, the other categories are: physics, chemistry, literature, economics and peace. The award ceremony always takes place on December 10, the anniversary of Alfred Nobel's death.
