Scientists announced the identification of a new species of dinosaur, after the discovery of a fossil in the American state of South Dakota. The animal, which was a herbivore, was the size of a horse, with a flat head and sharp horns above it. “When my colleagues saw the fossil imaging scans, they tore up their diagrams with the order of evolution and said: back to the drawing board. We never suspected that such a creature existed,” said paleontologist Robert Bakker, popular commentator on documentaries on prehistoric animals, consultant for the film Park of Dinosaurs and author of a book that, in the 60s, presented dinosaurs as agile and very intelligent animals, not the lazy lizards that were imagined until then.
