"It was Christmas Eve, it was getting dark and it didn't stop raining." Sheltered under an overpass, a group of four boys hoped to spend another night of hunger and cold. But they took in, with what little they had, another poor boy. Cardboard, as he was called for being a paper picker, enchanted his new friends with the reading of Jesus' parables. Two years later, under the same viaduct, Papelão approached another group of boys who suffered not only from hunger, but also from neglect, indifference and prejudice. He also told them his parables and won them over with a deep show of solidarity. The strong presence of Cardboard made the boys question: after all, was Cardboard Jesus disguised as a paper picker?
