Usually this verb means POWER AND/OR ACHIEVE.
Modal verb can is used when we want to express idea of ability / ability, possibility, permission and request.
· She can speak Portuguese. (She can speak Chinese.) – ABILITY
· It can happen to anyone. (This can happen to anyone.) – POSSIBILITY
· Mary can play outside. (Maria can play outside.) – PERMISSION
· Can I talk to the teacher? – (Can I talk to the teacher?) – REQUEST
Also, it can be used to build affirmative, negative and interrogative sentences.
Examples:
· Affirmative – I can dance.
· Negative- I can't / cannot dance.
· Interrogative – Can I dance?
1) Read and circle can or can't, answering the questions about yourself.
