Locusts

Grasshoppers are larger insects than crickets, generally measuring five to six centimeters in length. Most feed on plants. Grasshoppers are herbivores and have short antennae compared to crickets. Grasshopper eardrums are located at the base of the abdomen and, unlike crickets, female locusts do not have a developed ovipositor. Male locusts also sing, but they produce the sound in a different way. Instead of brushing their wings against each other, they rub their hind legs against them.
