The first historical records of scissors appeared in Ancient Egypt in approximately 1500 BC. Ç. This means that the cut object has been around for over 3,500 years.
Over time, there has been a lot of change both in format and in use. The current form, with two asymmetrical blades, was created by the Roman Empire around the year 100.
It was not until 1751, when the polished steel scissors invented by the Englishman Robert Hinchliffe were introduced, that the household instrument became really popular.
