Betito the frog had spent the day exploring the surroundings of the swamp. By late afternoon, he was so tired that he fell asleep on top of a water lily.
What he did not expect is that the plant would be on the bank of the river and would be carried away by the current.
Feeling the movement of the waters, Betito woke up. He was in an unknown place and it was already night! Quickly, he jumped ashore and saw the water lily follow the course of the river.
Not knowing where to go, Betito whimpered:
– And now, how will I get home?
“Follow the river path,” a soft, sleepy voice spoke. It was a fox that slept nearby.
Betito didn't move. He was terrified to see that huge animal. The fox got up and started to walk.
– Come, I'll help you.
Betito followed the fox through the darkness until he reached a familiar place, where he jumped up and croaked happily.
- Thank you, lady fox! – he thanked her, but she was already gone.
