1. Read the song “I grew up” and circle all the conjunctions you find. Remember conjunction is a linking element between prayers.

I grew up- Maisa

You tell me

that time has passed

That I grew up and the world changed

That's how it all happens

just look around

To see that everyone grows up

the flower, the love

the grass in the yard

the butterfly, the bird

each on your way

Better to know this is natural

When you see everything changed for good

And my heart stays

Greater good

to fit my dream

What will I live for?

an immensity

shines like the sun

And make us see

how good

be able to grow

Read the text below and answer questions 2, 3 and 4

Treasure Search

MONTEIRO LOBATO

1st SCENE

Dona Benta: Good morning! (or good afternoon). I love telling stories to children. Today I'm here to tell you another very interesting story. It's the story of a hidden treasure. A very valuable treasure. Anyone who had some problems and touched that treasure, the problems disappeared. Our story begins when Pedrinho dreams of a moonlit night.

Pedrinho: (Lying on her bed, moonlight in the background, the Emilia doll enters)

Emilia: Pedrinho, wake up. You have a great mission to accomplish. Pedrinho: What? (waking up) Who is talking?

Emilia: It's me, the Emilia doll. You don't know me anymore? I'm Narizinho's doll.

Pedrinho: Doll Emilia? But dolls don't talk. It must be a dream. I'm going back to sleep. (lie down)

Emilia: Will I have to pinch your butt?

Pedrinho: I think it's good, so I can make sure it's not a dream.

Emily: (Come over and pinch your butt) Pedrinho: Oh, it hurt you know! Emilia: Didn't you ask?

Pedrinho: I asked, but I didn't need to exaggerate. Emilia: So, are you prepared?

Pedrinho: Prepared for what?

Emilia: Ready to find a great treasure.

Pedrinho: Treasure? What treasure?

Emilia: What are you going to look for.

Pedrinho: But is it really necessary for me to go? Because I?

Emilia: Because you were chosen. Pedrinho: This story is not smelling good to me. But if it's for everyone's good, tell your superiors I'm coming.

2nd SCENE

Dona Benta: Pedrinho, then, gathered his travel things, put them in a small suitcase and went out on the road. In search of that treasure. But when he was halfway there, he found that he hadn't caught the clues, and he figured...

Pedrinho: Damn, but which way do I go? Here or there.? I'm lost. And now. What do I do? Viscount: (entering) Good morning Pedrinho? Where are you going?

Pedrinho: I don't know. I think I got lost. I had to find a great treasure, but they didn't give me the clues.

Viscount: What treasure is this? Pedrinho: I don't know how to inform you, I only know that it is a great treasure.

Viscount: Can I go with you?

Pedrinho: I think it can.

Viscount: So let's go that way. I think I know the way. (get ahead)

Pedrinho: But how does he know the way? (go out too)

3rd SCENE

Dona Benta: But behold, on that road a very bad villain decides to appear to mess up everything. Because she was very interested in that treasure. It was the witch Cuca.

Cuca: So it means that these two are going to look for a great treasure. Well, know that I'm looking for this treasure too. He is very valuable. It's magic. And as I already know how to do some magic, with him I'll do much more, and I'll be the Owner of the Yellow Woodpecker Farm. But alone I don't think I can do it, I need an ally. (Saci appears) I think I've already found someone.

Saci: Good morning Cuca? What are you doing around here?

Cuca: Looking for a great treasure. A super treasure. One hell of a treasure. Couldn't you help me? Saci: Help? Me? Do I owe on children?

Cuca: I'll share half with you, okay? Saci: The half? A great treasure? Maybe with this great treasure I can't improve my appearance… So I'll go.

  1. Belo Horizonte, December 22, 2016.

    Beloved son Carlito,

Two weeks ago you traveled to do the long-awaited exchange in London, and I miss you immensely.
How was the trip? Did you find the British climate and food strange? You're going to be there for two years, so make sure you write more, as you won't always be able to call. What are you thinking of the city and Londoners?
Your father and brothers send you big hugs, and Brendo asks you to get in touch with him online. Next week will be his sister Ana Maria's birthday; don't forget to call.
Here in Porto Alegre it has been raining a lot, and the heat remains intense. In January holidays, we go to Camboriu. It's going to be so weird without you!
Take care of yourself, protect yourself from the cold, which is terrible at this time, and see who you're going to hang out with. Your brother plans to spend the month of July with you, if all goes well. If you need anything, call us right away.
    Respond soon and send photos.

A thousand Kisses.
Katia.
