He is tiny and very hard to find. He lives hidden in a cave and hardly anyone knows him. A relative of spiders, ticks and scorpions, the pseudoscorpion is part of a very ancient group of eight-legged animals. Why was he called a pseudo (false) scorpion? Because, unlike the real scorpion, its tail has no stinger! This curious little animal is at risk of extinction because the only cave where it is found is being threatened by the exploitation of limestone and the construction of hydroelectric dams.
