Sometimes, the fatigue is so great that the desire is to take a nap right there: on the desk at the office, right in front of the computer. If energetic foods reduce physical fatigue, stimulants combat mental fatigue. The main representatives of the genus are tea and coffee. “A cup of tea or coffee right after a meal not only improves digestion, but also provides an extra boost to face the afternoon,” guarantees Tamara Mazaracki. Both tea and coffee are rich in caffeine, a stimulant that reduces fatigue and improves concentration. But for some people, three or four cups of coffee a day is enough to cause harmful effects on the body, such as anxiety and irritation. When in doubt, it's worth checking: a cup of tea contains 50 to 80 mg of caffeine, while a can of soda contains 40 to 75 mg. A cup of strong coffee can reach 200 mg of the substance. To tea and coffee, nutritionist Gisele Lemos would add good old chocolate. “Stimulant foods are considered infallible because they provide mental refreshment, almost instantaneous”, she justifies. Nutritionist Letícia Pacheco recommends the still little-known chlorophyll juice. Remember that any green vegetable has chlorophyll in its composition. For this reason, the list of options is large and includes cabbage leaves, broccoli stalks and mint. You can mix them with fruits such as lemon, pineapple or orange.
