NAME:

The Cauê lizard

Cauê is a lizard. Like many other lizards, he was born behind the main light in the living room of the widow Maria's house, who came from Paraguay.
Geckos don't like to leave their burrows during the day. They prefer the night, to hunt small insects.
Cauê's favorite meal is mosquitoes, which keep infesting the entrance hall. But winter is approaching, and it was hard to find one flying around.
One day, hiding behind the lamp, Cauê heard people talking. Someone commented:

– The cold is coming. Good thing is when summer comes. Let's go to the beach?
- I dont like. The beach is full of insects flying everywhere - Another person replied.
So Caue didn't want to hear any more. I could only imagine the words beach and flying insects. Without thinking twice, he soon gathered his little things and announced the decision to the family:
– I'm moving to the beach. There it is good and there is a lot of food.
There was no one to convince Cauê to stay. He was determined. That same night, he began his journey from this long-awaited beach.
Leaving the house, Cauê had his first fright: “how big the world is out here!”-He thought. He didn't even know which side of the street to walk. He chose one, and he went! He asked the dogs for information. He ran away from cats. He ran and hid. And it started all over again the other day.
It was a real adventure. Until, after two weeks, Cauê arrived at the beach. He saw the sea and thought:
– Water I'll never have a problem finding! How is it possible not to have other geckos living around here?
He ran to the sea and, before he could reach it, a wave knocked him over. Recovered, he tried one more time. And other. Until he understood how the sea worked. He stood there, waiting for the water with his mouth open to kill his bud. As soon as the wave arrived:
– Eww! - He screamed. – What salt water! I'm too tired. I go to bed and tomorrow I look for better water.
Cauê made a burrow in the sand and fell asleep, as it was already dawn. A few hours passed and tourists began to arrive. Children running around, women stretching out their towels to sunbathe, men playing football.
Cauê woke up with all that confusion “what is this?” he said to himself.
At that moment, a girl ran by and kicked his hole, then it was a ball that almost hit his tail. And many people coming out of the sea, buying ice cream, walking along the beach… Cauê couldn't hide, much less protect himself.
A crab pulled him into his house.
- What are you doing here? The beach is too dangerous for a gecko! Here is like this from spies! - Said the crab, hitting several times one part on the other of his tweezers. Tired, sleepy, hungry and thirsty, Cauê had no doubts about asking for help:
– Sir, can I stay here until dark? I'm too tired to go home today. The crab gave his permission. And as soon as night came, Caue left. He returned to his place, which he should never have left.
