This is the first book of short stories by biologist Tietta Pivatto and I'm already rooting for many more to come! Birdie and other chirps: the birds of our daily life
Tanagers, hummingbirds, doves, thrushes… Birds appear in all the stories, but in fact the book is about people. About moments of transformation, of restlessness. About how birds cause the change in the look. From the backyard to the Amazon rainforest, Tietta portrays a very Brazilian Brazil. It's no wonder that some tales brought a bit of childhood nostalgia. Others reminded me of real people I met at different times in my life.
Fictional or not so much, the stories of Birdie and other peeps bring many reflections, but without losing lightness.
