Mustelids are animals belonging to the Mustelidae family, the largest family of the Carnivora order, which includes otters, weasels, badgers, ferrets, among others. They are small or medium-sized animals divided into 56 species spread throughout the world, except for Australia and Antarctica. They have a diet consisting primarily of meat, but some species may occasionally feed on plant matter. They can inhabit terrestrial, aquatic or marine environments. In Brazil, there are 6 species of this family.
