In addition to giving a slight feeling of well-being, chocolate, especially dark chocolate, has flavonoids, a substance found naturally in cocoa and also in fruits, vegetables, teas and red wine. Recent research shows that flavonoids work as an antioxidant, preventing or delaying damage to cells in the body, which can be good for blood circulation. Cocoa butter, used in the manufacture of chocolate, is also not considered a bad fat, as it does not raise blood cholesterol levels.
