We don't even realize it, but satellites are important to everyone. When you check the weather forecast to see if it's going to be sunny on the weekend, the images are taken by them and so are the phone calls.

Satellites are sent into space in rockets or space shuttles and then launched to the position where they are supposed to be. Their exact location is calculated by scientists and depends on the task they are going to perform.

Closer ones take photographs for maps. The others that research plants, animals and volcanoes, the navigation ones, known as GPS, and the weather forecasters are thousands of kilometers from our planet.
