In the forests of Brazil lives a different rabbit: the tapiti. Also known as the Brazilian rabbit, the species, native to the country, was first described in Pernambuco, in 1753.
Since then, the small-medium-sized animal has been parading its narrow ears and cotton along the edges of dense tropical forests, secondary forests, wetlands and riverbanks. rivers.
Observing it, however, is not so easy. Discreet and solitary, the nocturnal bunny hides in burrows during the day, going unnoticed by many nature observers.
