the patchwork quilt

One day when Felipe arrived at grandma's house, he found a bunch of pieces of fabric scattered on the floor, near the sewing machine where grandma was working.
– What is this, grandma?
– They're patchwork, Felipe. I gathered the pieces of cloth that were left over from my seams, and now I can make a patchwork quilt. I'm going to start patching them up today.
– Can I help grandma?
- It's ok. So go on separating the scraps for me. First just the polka dots, then the stripes.

Felipe spread everything on the floor and separated them one by one […]
– Look at this striped cloth, it's from those pajamas you made for me when we spent those days at the farm, remember?
– That's right, Felipe, I'm remembering. What a wonderful vacation! We rode horses, we sucked on jabuticaba… The jabuticaba trees were loaded!
