World's oldest Japanese woman turns 118

She lives in an institution that cares for the elderly in Fukuoka City.

A Japanese woman, recognized by Guinness World Records as the oldest person in the world, turned 118 this Saturday (2).

Tanaka Kane resides in the city of Fukuoka in southwest Japan and was born on January 2, 1903. She currently lives in an institution for the care of the elderly.

Tanaka is practically not having the opportunity to meet _______ relatives, due to the coronavirus pandemic. However, institution officials report that she is doing well, eating three meals a day and exercising.

She likes to eat chocolate, drink sodas and do arithmetic. According to officials, she wants to stay healthy until she is 120 years old.
