Carefully read the text and then answer the proposed interpretative questions:
From the title, you already know that this is a small fish. And that's right! The little bag fits in his palm. At about eight centimeters, it is already an adult – quite different from its fish relatives of the same group as the Siluriformes, which can reach up to two meters in length.
This small fish lives swimming in the springs of streams, hidden by vegetation or among rocks and trunks of rivers, where find your favorite food: aquatic insects - as insects that spend at least one cycle of their lives in the Water.
The reproduction of the bagrinho takes place between the months of September and March. Females can carry around 600 eggs. Really look like? Well, know that only a few puppies manage to reach adulthood.
The bagrinho can be considered very demanding when it comes to water quality. It is adapted to life in clean and clear water, being very sensitive to changes that take place in its environment. Currently, few fish of this species can be found living free in nature, mainly because of the degradation of the environment where they live – the Atlantic Forest.
When trees are cut down, the temperature and water level of the streams where the bagrinho lives change. The soil erosion that deforestation can cause causes soil and sand to be taken into the river, leaving the darker water and unsuitable for our bagrinho, which, as we have seen, is adapted to clear waters and free from pollution.
