A puma was rescued on Thursday afternoon (2), on the side of a road in the countryside of
paracatu, in the northwest of Minas. According to the Military Environmental Police (PMMA), the animal was weakened and had a wound on one of its paws.The feline was in a region known as Lafeza. Employees of a company, which has a farm nearby, were monitoring the animal's behavior for 2 days and called the police to rescue it.
With the support of safety equipment, the military collected the jaguar and sent it to the Wild Animal Screening Center (Cetas) in Patos de Minas. However, the space could not receive the animal, which was transferred to the unit in Brasília (DF).
According to PMMA, she is a young female, weighing approximately 20 kg. After receiving medical attention, the jaguar will be released into the wild.
