The jaguar was a little old and tired of running after the animals.
She then had an idea. She spread the word that she was about to die and that, before she stretched her shins, she would like to have a visit from all the animals in the forest.
Then he went into his cave and waited.
The plan was working. One by one, the visitors entered the cave to say goodbye and to all of them the smart jaguar started to feed…
Until the tortoise's turn came. He came slowly and stopped near the entrance to the cave.
From inside, the jaguar realized that the tortoise was undecided, so she started to say:
– Come in soon, friend tortoise. I'm already so weak… Come and keep me company…
The tortoise backed away and, preparing to escape, replied:
– Thank you for the invitation, jaguar friend. But, from the footprints on the ground, I see that many animals have entered there and none of them has yet left. Apparently, your cave must be overcrowded. I'll come back later, when all these animals have left and the cave is more spacious...
And she took off!
