NAME:
A merchant was going with his donkey to the beach house, with a heavy load of salt, he reached a river and crossed over a shallower part. They had crossed this river many times before without accident, but this time the donkey slipped and fell halfway across. And when the merchant finally got him to his feet, most of the salt had melted away.
Delighted to see how much lighter his burden had become, the donkey happily finished the journey.
The next day the merchant went to fetch another load of salt. On the way home, the donkey, remembering what had happened in the river, purposely dropped into the water and again got rid of most of his burden.
The furious Merchant immediately turned and led the donkey back to the bank, where he loaded it with two large baskets of sponges. In the river, the donkey fell again; but when he got up, the donkey was very disconsolate and dragged himself home under a load ten times heavier than before.
