To begin with, the cup-shaped nest is built in the dense foliage or leaf sheaths of palm trees (hence its name). Wide, dry leaves coated with vegetable fiber are used. The female lays, on average, 2 eggs, which are incubated for 14 days. After hatching, the chicks remain in the nest between 17 and 21 days and are fed by their parents.
