In Giza, Egypt, more than 4,500 years ago, three pyramids were built that, to this day, attract visitors from all over the world. All of them are located on the west side of the Nile River, towards the setting sun. The Egyptians believed that this was the right position for their rulers to rise up and take their place with the gods.
Most of all the pyramids were named after Pharaoh Cheops, who, after being mummified, was taken there. The other two also honor Egyptian kings. They are: Chefrem and Miquerinos. Due to the grandeur of the buildings and also the historical value, the so-called Pyramids of Giza are part of the Seven Wonders of the World.
