NAME:
The story of the invention of cotton candy and the machine that produces it is quite controversial. Some say that the treat was invented by an American dentist in the city of New Orleans, located in the state of Louisiana, in the United States. Josef Delarose Lascaux reportedly presented his invention to the public during the 1830 World's Fair. For the invention of cotton candy, the city of New Orleans to this day considers Lascaux an outstanding personality.
The dentist's achievement, however, is not recognized by the American Food and Beverage Dictionary (Dictionary of American Food and Drink). According to the dictionary, cotton candy first appeared in 1900, in a performance by the Ringling Bros. circus, and would have been invented by Thomas Patton, who, in the same year, won the right to produce and resell cotton candy making machines similar to yours.
