NAME:
Atmosphere is the gaseous layer that surrounds the entire surface of our planet. Without it there would be no life on Earth.
The atmosphere is a reservoir of materials, it is mainly formed by the gases nitrogen, oxygen, argon, water vapor, carbon dioxide and small amounts of other gases.
During the day, solar radiation penetrates the atmosphere and heats the Earth's surface. The atmosphere absorbs heat radiated from the Earth's surface, preventing it from escaping fully back into space. Without the atmosphere, days would be much warmer and nights much cooler.
When we burn fuels in industries or in cars, we release harmful gases into the atmosphere, these gases prevent the heat from going out into space and this causes the greenhouse effect, ie the increase in the temperature of the Earth.
The atmosphere protects living beings against various phenomena such as meteors - which are rocky celestial bodies that burn by the friction with air enters the atmosphere – and ultraviolet rays, which are partly absorbed by a layer of gas layer of ozone.
The ozone layer is a layer of gas that surrounds the earth, it filters out ultraviolet (UV) rays from the sun that are harmful to living beings. But living beings damage the ozone layer with each passing day, with the use of products that generate CFCs (chlorofluorocarbons) gases used in the manufacture of aerosols and refrigerators old ones.
