With about 150 kilos and an average size of 1.30 meters in length, loggerhead turtles are marine species that live in tropical and subtropical areas of all oceans.
The popular name is inspired by the characteristics of the animal's head, which is large and has a very strong jaw.
Carnivorous, they feed on squid, molluscs and crustaceans (predated far from the coast) and fauna species typical of sandy bottoms, such as crabs and snails (when they approach coastal areas).
