NAME:
In a certain kingdom lived a king who could not laugh at anything. The Secretary of Health and Judgment asked the Duke...
– What happened to His Majesty? Just yesterday, and very happy, he laughed heartily!
Now the Duke of Laughter, very serious, replied:
– Since this morning our king has saddened.
They put together a Council, everybody worried. Each did what they could to see the king healed.
The Minister of Diseases ordered an injection. Cakes, pies and ice cream was the one for the Ration.
An artist brought paints and brushes to paint. Soon the Head of Sports made the king run and jump.
A whole orchestra came to give a musical session. But the king just sighed… it broke his heart!
A very old minister, who was already retired, assured that he had a way of getting the king cured:
- If you want to laugh again, His Highness just needs to find someone happy and wear his shirt.
The ministers protested:
– this is pure obscurity!
But the king took seriously everything the old man said and gave very strict orders to soldiers and sailors:
– They'll look everywhere, turn the whole world over!
Soon the men spread out along the river road. Some followed on horseback, others went by ship.
They visited several dukes, kings, barons, empresses. Many counts and princesses – all of them unhappy!
Already tired of walking so much and sleeping in a hard bed, sailors and soldiers gave up the search.
It was there that an old duke heard cheerful whistling sounds along the way and saw a shepherd boy.
His Duke then called:
– Come here, my good boy! To be so happy what do you do?
The pastor just replied:
– Joy is in the air! If you smile for life, you don't have to work!
And the duke then proposed:
- Listen well, happy man, want to exchange your shirt for a bunch of rubies?
- If you had a shirt, I would give your highness. I have everything I want, I don't need wealth!
The shepherd went to the castle to see his majesty and tell him that there were still really happy people!
When the king heard that he laughed three days in a row. He saw that such happiness cannot be bought in this life.
