leaf watchers

– Autumn is my favorite season! – Babi smiles, sitting with her friends in the backyard – Look at those leaves!
The snake Silvia, and the zebras Zig and Zag look up and smile too. Red and gold leaves fill the air.
– And they smell so good! – Babi continues.
– Hey, this is a perfect time to visit Mr. Tico in the tower! – Silvia says suddenly.
– Yes! Let's go right now! – the friends respond.

They jump on their bikes and run through the forest.
Mr. Tico spots them with his binoculars, waves and shouts:
– Come on!
They count the steps as they go up. Silvia can count to 100. When it reaches step number 100, it starts again from 1. Finally they reach the second hundred steps. Everyone keeps climbing, out of breath and laughing in the meantime.
- Ufa! We achieved! – they finally celebrate!
And everyone shouts in one voice:
- Wow!
– Isn't it wonderful? – asks Mr. Tico. The forest below looks like a red, yellow, gold and brown carpet, with patches of green here and there.
“I could stay here forever,” laughs Babi.
“Well, these cookies won't last forever, but I'll share them with you today,” laughs Mr. Tico.
They chew excitedly, far above the color of autumn.
