Launched in 2003, the Nokia 1100 made a significant impact on the mobile phone market. Its low price has helped it to make cell phones more affordable, especially in less developed and underdeveloped nations.
During the last six years of its production, the Nokia 1100 became the best-selling mobile phone of all time, with 255 million units sold worldwide.

Inspired by the success of the Nokia 1100, the Nokia 1110 model featured enhanced features such as support for MP3 ringtones. Released between 2005 and 2007, the Nokia 1110 was basically equivalent to the 1100 except for these additional features.
The Nokia 1110 has sold 250 million units worldwide despite having only been in production for two years.

Released in 2014, Apple's iPhone 6 and 6 Plus quickly outsold all previous iPhone models in sales, selling over 220 million units.
