On July 1st, a tragedy occurred on the Hongcheon River in South Korea, involving the disappearance of a 46-year-old woman.
According to reports from her friends, the woman decided to jump into the river during an argument over whether a dog would be able to rescue its owner in a dangerous situation.

However, unfortunately, she was swept away by the current and disappeared, requiring a large team to find her.
Currents pose a real and unpredictable danger in bodies of water such as rivers and seas. They occur due to the constant and rapid flow of water, which can be influenced by several factors, such as the topography of the place, obstacles along the way and changes in the depth of the river bed.
As much as the dog had good intentions in trying to save the owner, the situation could be totally chaotic for the tutor, as it turned out to be, and also for the animal.
After the incident was reported, around 30 rescue workers were mobilized to search for the woman. However, river conditions, with muddy waters and strong currents, hampered search efforts.
Authorities are keen to further investigate the incident, including the three friends who were camping with the victim and her dog.
So far, this is the only information about the tragedy and there are no updates from either the police or the local media.
