An aquarium is a real delight to a boy's eyes. From a boy? I believe for everyone's. I myself confess that I am a regular visitor to the small aquarium on the Passeio Público. And even the last time I was there, I witnessed the immensely amusing joy that aroused in a 27-month-old little boy just the spectacle of fish tossing around behind the glass walls of the aquarium. The heavy tortoise instilled a serious air in him. But how he laughed at the clear, agile, clear school of the little crocoros! Shrimps flapping their dorsal paws incessantly! The hoefish, flat and almost round, with the two well-marked dark stripes, looked like a cute toy, – like the fish that the Amazon Indians make for their children and that I had the opportunity to see at the Museu do For.
