Babi sheep is getting better with numbers at least, up to ten.
– Babi, would you like to learn a little bit about the time? – the mother sheep asks.
“Yes,” Babi answers.
They sit together at the kitchen table. Mom shows Babi a watch.
“This clock is different from the one Ivo has been repairing in the tower,” Mom says.
- I am seeing. This one doesn't have a round face and pointers, just numbers.

- Right! So, this one works like this: The first numbers, those before the two dots, mark the time, you know? - Mom asks.
- Of course! So that's an eight. It's eight o'clock? – Babi asks, understanding the idea.
– Yes, a little after eight. You can tell it's after eight, because the other numbers, after the two dots, say the minutes after that time.
“A zero and then a five,” Babi says.
- Right. That means it's five minutes past eight, right now,” Mom says.
– Oops! It's now six minutes past eight! - Babi laughs, when the numbers change.
– Even if you still don't know the numbers after ten, we can still use this watch. Suppose we are going to shop when the hour side is nine and the minute side is two zeros. That will be at nine o'clock, when Mr. Ptero opens the store – Mom explains.
- Excellent! I'm going to sit here and paint a little bit. When it's nine o'clock, I'll come to you,” Babi says, feeling very important and grown up. You better get ready! - She concludes.
