Many years ago, many years ago, there was a big ball to which all the animals were invited. No, the party wasn't in heaven, it was on dry land. The animals were all in an uproar, except for one...
Tijubina, a very vain and clever female gray lizard, finding her skin too dull to attend such an important occasion, lizard on the stones with sad eyes.
Coming out of a bush, Carambolo, a well-meaning male lizard with a cheerful green skin, wanted to know what was wrong with Tijubina, his old acquaintance.
– We are on the eve of the big animal ball and I feel bad for not having a more showy skin. How can I go in these outfits? - Tijubina said in a crying voice.
Sensitized, Carambôlo decided to lend her skin, so that her friend could go very pretty to the party. He said:
– So, Tijubina, let's do it like this: I'll take your gray skin and you'll go with mine, which is green and shiny. But, look, after the ball, we undo the exchange!
Immediately, Tijubina changed her mood! Days later, she changed her skin with Carambolo and entered the salon all green and vain.
On the way out, Carambolo, in a gray suit, stopped to wait for her friend, who didn't show up. Nice as he is, she thought:
- She must have had some setback, leaving early. Tomorrow she appears.
But Tijubina didn't come the next day, or the next, or the next… And Carambolo lost count of the days he spent waiting for his old skin.
Today, he's a gray lizard, who shakes his head all the time, regretting being passed over. Are you going to say you never met him?
