Have you ever noticed how the sea water gets warmer at the end of a sunny day? This happens because the sea concentrates and conserves the heat received throughout the day. Especially during the summer months, tropical seas get a lot of heat and heat up. When the sea surface exceeds 26º Celsius, the natural process of water evaporation starts to happen faster. Then, the air just above the surface absorbs the water vapor resulting from evaporation, making it hotter and more humid. Hot, the air begins to rise, forming a column with low atmospheric pressure around which winds begin to blow. As the column of hot, humid air rises, the water vapor condenses into tiny droplets. After a few hours, the drops gather and form clouds, and after a few days of cloud formation, rain and thunder start to happen.
