These are the Iguaçu Falls, in Paraná: the Iguaçu River, whose name means “big water” in Tupi-Guarani, wins a uneven terrain, 18 kilometers before joining the Paraná River, and it falls into several falls, from 40 to 82 meters of height. This spectacular formation has existed for about 150 million years. Above the falls, the river measures 1,200 meters wide, and below them it narrows into a channel of up to 65 meters. The amount of drained water, in one second, varies from 500,000 liters in periods of drought to 6,500,000 liters in floods.
