Cast away the fear!

It's common for children to feel scared at bedtime, even more so when we leave them alone in their rooms. However, fear can be a crucial factor to disturb the total relaxation of these individuals, which certainly affects the quality of sleep. In this sense, parents and caregivers should strive to ensure that their children feel welcome in their sleeping environment. To do this, use simple strategies, such as using dim lighting to minimally illuminate the room, or investing in making this environment attractive for the child to stay.

Be careful with food

What we eat has a big influence on how much sleep we get at night, and the same goes for children. Therefore, it is recommended that caregivers opt for simpler foods, less heavy and free of sugars or fats. For example, a fruit can be a perfect meal to make the child full, but not full enough to bother him. Also, don't leave to feed them a few minutes before going to bed. Instead, prefer to eat meals at least an hour before bed.

turn off the screens

More and more children are interested in the colorful and bright screens of cell phones, televisions and computers. However, several research points out that the use of screens at night influences the production of melatonin, which is our sleep hormone. Therefore, it is recommended that at least one hour before bed all screens are turned off. This will help the individual's body and mind prepare for sleep.
