NAME:

the disappearing coin

Hippopotamus Horacio loved the Silvia snake's magic trick. He is learning one now.

- Ladies and gentlemen! – he starts bowing to his little friends in hiding. – Please look at the shiny coin in my hand.

- And he shows it to everyone. “I'm going to make it disappear by magic, just rubbing it on my elbow,” says Horacio.

He rubs it on his left elbow.

The coin lands on the table in front of him.

– Ho-ho! – he says, and his friends mumble.

He picks up the coin in his right hand and puts it in his left. Then he puts his right hand to his ear, as if listening to something, and rubs his right elbow.

– Abracadabra! Alakazan! - he screams.

He opens both hands: They are empty!

- Wow! Fantastic! – His friends exclaim.

- How did you do it? – Asks the snake Silvia.

“I'll show you if you promise not to tell anything to any adult,” Horacio whispers. Everyone pays attention.

– I pretended I passed the coin to my left hand, but actually I left it in my right hand. So when I put my hand to my ear and rubbed my elbow, I dropped the coin down the back of my shirt. It's easy when we trill a lot! - He says.

– It really seemed like magic to me! - Silvia laughs.

- I hope I can do this as well as you!
