Do not. Some species of dragonflies can live up to 5 years! In Brazil there are 1,200 different species and around 5,000 species worldwide. They always live near rivers and lakes with clean water, which serve as their home. They are very sensitive to environmental pollution and this is the main reason for the disappearance of dragonflies. Washerwoman, helicopter, maiden and zigzag are other names by which this insect is called.
