Avoid traveling with these vehicles! Your safety may be at stake.

Is your car manufactured before 2014? If the answer is yes, it's better to be careful when hitting the road. That's because most vehicles launched more than 10 years ago, especially the most popular ones, lack two of the main safety items required for cars today: airbag and brake ABS.

Law forces cars to leave the line

Alert: THIS poisonous plant landed a young man in the hospital

These safety devices were included in the manufacture of vehicles after the approval of a law effective from January 1, 2014.

Thus, the installation of the double frontal airbag and the anti-lock braking system (ABS) became mandatory, preventing the wheels from locking in the event of sudden braking.

Some models had to be discontinued for not adapting to the new obligations, as the price would be considerably higher due to the inclusion of these items. This was the case with the Fiat Mille, Kombi and Gol G4. However, it is still possible to acquire these used cars.

In addition to these models, other lines that do not have front airbags and ABS brakes are:

  • Ford Fiesta Hatch RoCam;
  • Ford Ka 24 200;
  • Honda Fit CX;
  • Nissan March 1.0;
  • Ford Fiesta Sedan RoCam;
  • Peugeot 207;
  • Peugeot 207 Sedan;
  • Renault Clio;
  • Fiat Palio Fire;
  • Fiat Siena EL;
  • Toyota Corolla XLi 60 820.

Will cars get more expensive?

There is an expectation that the price of cars will be even higher by 2030. The new change in values will be due to the installation of 10 new safety items that will become mandatory in cars. Some of the new changes are:

  • Mandatory side impact test;
  • Electronic stability control system;
  • Alert for unfastened seat belt;
  • Reverse camera or sound warning sensors;
  • Pedestrian impact protection;
  • Shock and collision protection technologies.
