It is worth remembering the need for the teacher to work, first, the specific characteristics of the genre, so that students can produce it properly. Guidelines:
Define the controversial topic on which you will produce your opinion piece. You need to convince the teacher and your classmates of your opinion. To do this, follow these steps:
1º: Find out more about the topic by researching reliable sources. Look for divergent opinions in front of him.
2º: On a scratch sheet, select the arguments that support your opinion and those that oppose it. It should be noted that, in your article, arguments from others must be cited, provided that the mention of authorship, as they confer reliability to the text, demonstrating that research was carried out on the subject matter.
3º: Make your arguments, which need to be consistent. Take a stand on other people's arguments.
4º: Build the text, which must have a minimum of 15 lines and a maximum of 30 lines, with the following structure:
5º: Create an interesting title for your opinion piece.
6º: Give the text to your teacher or your teacher, who will review it.
7º: Make corrections (if any), clearing the text.
8º: Present the produced article to your classmates. Discuss with them, as divergent opinions are likely.
