There are times when parenting can be challenging. As parents try to give their children the best as they grow, it's crucial to balance everything with lessons around important values and responsibilities.

Dr. Jazmine McCoy, a psychologist who often shares useful information about raising and caring for children On her regular Instagram account, she says the importance of teaching young children the proper tasks is fundamental.

Step 1: Start small

The first step is always the hardest, so start small. It is critical to teach children to be consistent with small daily tasks before embarking on larger responsibilities. Every child is unique and it can take a little getting used to.

2nd Step: Progression of tasks according to age group

For babies between 2 and 3 years of age, it is important to learn how to put their own toys in the pile and take out the rubbish as a way to help their parents. As they enter preschool age, children are able to learn to make a simple sandwich and clear the dinner table. They can also help with tidying up the living room and their own room with the help of an adult.

School-age children, aged 7-11 years, can perform some tasks such as: cooking on the stove, gathering groceries and washing mirrors. Children aged 12 and over can help their parents by folding laundry and taking care of their pets, as well as babysitting their younger siblings and washing the car. In addition, they can help their parents with other duties, under supervision.
