NAME:
When José left Sergipe, in 2011, alone, he had a dream of a better future for his son William in his suitcase. In São Paulo, the bricklayer took two years to create the necessary conditions to finally have the boy by his side again. Talking to neighbors, he discovered the “Obra do Berço”. There, every morning, after school, William takes computer classes, writing, arts and physical education. It was at the NGO that he learned to read. “He's not the same kid anymore. He was always very quiet, and today he interacts very well with his colleagues”, says his father. “I do everything to keep him there. I know you are being well taken care of, fed and educated. The NGO is like a second mother for him”, says José, who separated when his son was just over 1 year old. William says his favorite classes are dance and performing arts. “I learned to research a lot of things and made friends. Now, I want to learn to play the keyboard!”, he says, excited.
