A mother asked for help and advice on what she should do about a difficult situation her son faced at school. During the “pajama day” organized by the school, students were allowed to bring a stuffed animal to class. So the mother's seven-year-old son brought his favorite Squishmallow to class.
The big problem occurred when the son returned home without his favorite toy. According to her son, he gave his stuffed animal to his friend so that he would continue to be friends with him.

The Squishmallow had been a gift and was the child's favorite toy.
“He got it for Christmas from an aunt we can no longer see, and he loved it”, explained the mother, continuing the story. “Anyway, he went to school with it but came home without it and said his friend liked it.”
According to the mother, her son said that this friend told him that if he didn't give him the Squishmallow, the friend would no longer be her friend.
“I usually always encourage my son to share, but I know how much he loved the Squishmallow. And if what he is telling me is true, then he was forced to give it up to keep a friend, ”wrote the mother, and who asked the people of Reddit for advice.
At one of the councils, she was told that she had every right to involve her son's friend's teacher and parents.
Another person wrote about how he would feel on the other side – if a teacher or parent came to them asking for the toy back – and said that “it would be no problem”.
Other people asked that the mother also be especially careful with the teacher's emotions, as they may not be willing to mediate in a situation that could explode, but contacting the teacher would be a good first step in resolving the question.
