The title of the feature will be the athlete's last name: "Schumacher". The release date was given as September 15th.
The story will trace details of the trajectory of the seven-time world champion in the main category of motorsport. From the simple beginnings in Kerpen to the many titles in the top-level sport, everything will be there.
To compose the documentary, exclusive interviews were made with Schumacher's family members. His wife, Corinna Betsch, and children Gina and Mick participated in the recordings.
Well-known characters of relevance within Formula 1 also participate. Flavio Briatore, Jean Todt and Luca di Montezemolo are some of the examples.
However, those who believe that the work will be one more for the sports catalog are mistaken. In fact, the promise is that of a human documentary, which will address aspects of life off the slopes.
“Schumacher has redefined the professional image of a driver and set new standards. In his quest for perfection, he spared neither himself nor his team, leading everyone to their greatest successes. To preserve his private sphere, he always and strictly separated his family life from his public life. The film tells the two worlds. It is a gift from her family to her beloved husband and father," said Sabine Kehm, a spokeswoman for Schumacher.
Michael Schumacher had an accident while skiing in the south of France, in Méribel. He hit his head against a rock. This accident happened in 2013.
Since then, the health status of the former Formula 1 driver has been kept in absolute secrecy by the family. Rarely is any concrete information about Schumacher's health published.
His wife even gave a statement about his health status. In a not very clear way, she hinted that Schumacher is still reacting slowly.
