Mother's Day is a commemorative date created to honor and show love to women who have become mothers and is a great opportunity to work important values with the little ones. They say that a mother is all the same, she only changes her address. Really?
"MOTHER": a small word, but with an infinite meaning, as it means love, dedication, renunciation, strength, wisdom...
Talk to the little ones and explain that "Mother" is not only the one who gives life, but she is the one (or the one) who cares, who gives love, who participates in the lives of her children born or raised.
Moral values begin to be formed since we are born and their construction results from the experience lived by children and adults when relating to the world and their peers and it is from the affectivity that values emerge through interpersonal exchanges.
With that in mind, we started Mother's Day activities with a conversation circle:
What do you know about Mother's Day (Why is there such a day?)
After the initial moment, we started reading the text in the form of text slides, which will help in the further discussion to explore the project theme:
"Mother of all kinds"
After reading, I suggest that you discuss the topics with the class:
▶ Every mother is a great mother, but each one has her own way:
Angry, jealous, affectionate, friend or clingy… What type is your mother? Because?
Until recently, the role of mothers was basically to take care of the house and children. Do you think there have currently been changes in this role? Explain.
Values such as tolerance, patience, forgiveness, understanding, character, ethics, honesty, perseverance, love… can be remembered and discussed at this moment.
▶ Think about your mother and choose a word that best defines her.
▶ Write this word on the sheet and memorize it however you like.
▶ Place the panel in a conspicuous place. Ask the children to invite the family to see the result of this work.
