According to a survey carried out by Pesquisa Game Brasil, 3 out of 4 Brazilians play video games. As in previous years, mobile is the most popular platform among game lovers, representing around 48.3% of this audience. In addition, almost 75% of the Brazilian population plays something on the main platforms: consoles, PCs and smartphones.

Conducted in early 2022, the survey heard about 13,051 people in 26 states and the Federal District, between February 11th and March 7th. Through it, it was possible to notice that there was an increase of 2.5 percentage points in the number of people who said they played on some platform.
Furthermore, for 76.5% of those interviewed, electronic games are the main form of entertainment, above movies, physical activities, etc. It was an increase of almost 9 percentage points compared to 2021. Including, women represent the largest portion of the public of electronic games in the country (51%).
In addition, the survey collected data on the ethnicity and age group of the gamer public. In this case, the brown or black population represents 49.4% of the sum, while people declared white make up 46.6%. In terms of age, those between 20 and 24 years old are the vast majority of players, accounting for 25.5% of the total.
Overall, mobile devices are by far the favorite platform among Brazilian gamers. Next are computers, representing 23.3%, and consoles, with 20%. In addition, according to the survey, smartphones are also able to retain more audiences on a daily average (33.2%). Meanwhile, on computers, those who play daily represent 15.3% of the public, and on consoles, 11.8%.
This difference between cell phones and other platforms is due to several reasons. First, the device is much more accessible and is present in the homes of most respondents. In addition, the popularity of games like Free Fire brought a wave of new gamers, who are increasingly engaged. Including this was a factor that contributed greatly to the increase in online matches.
