The Ministry of Education will attend meetings with the G20

One of the priorities of the G20 Education Group this year is ensuring basic literacy and numeracy. That's because the world's largest economies are concerned with more inclusive, qualitative and collaborative technical learning at all levels. In this sense, the Ministry of Education of Brazil will be more internationally present through meetings with the G20.

Importance of the G20 for education

The G20 is a group of countries that brings together the 20 largest economies in the world, including associated and developing countries. The countries that are part of the G20 are:

The G20 countries account for more than 80% of world trade and about two-thirds of the world's population. They meet externally to discuss dietary issues and coordinate policies to address challenges

Natália Cabral, from the International Office of the Minister's Office, said that Brazil's participation at this meeting was of paramount importance, mainly due to the fact that the country chaired the G20 in the year that he comes.

The aim is to build capabilities that promote greater lifelong learning in the context of the future of work, by strengthening research and promoting innovation through richer collaboration and partnerships.

Participation of the Ministry of Education in the G20 meetings

The Ministry of Education is participating more actively in all world events. This is because Brazil was approached several times to discuss the priorities to be defined for 2024 and to hear suggestions regarding the format of the meetings.

Brazil will participate in all the events of the year, together with the representative of Indonesia, which hosted the G20 in 2022, and with India.
