At the trial, those present at Court were able to hear the reports of torture and abuse to which Gabriel was constantly subjected. Frequent beatings, shooting with a compressed air gun and forcing the boy to eat garbage, cat feces and even his own vomit were some of the practices adopted by Pearl.

On the day of the murder, Pearl and her boyfriend beat the child to death for not cleaning up her toys. Gabriel had brothers and they were also abused, but the most violent practices were against him.

Ex-prisoner reports torture suffered by Pearl Fernandez in jail

The convict is serving a life sentence without the right to parole in California. To escape the death penalty, in 2018, Pearl took the blame for her son's murder.

Reports on Pearl's daily life in jail were posted on TikTok by Yvette Garcia, who was also serving time in the same women's prison where Pearl is.

Due to the repercussions of the case, Garcia claims that the women in the prison wanted revenge on Pearl for having murdered her son. Therefore, the first case of aggression took place in the prison cafeteria, in which a detainee threw punches and blows against her.

Other accounts of torture were also revealed by Yvette. According to her, Pearl was cut with the lid of a tuna can and was also hit with boiling water thrown by the prisoners.

There are no reports about the routine of Aguirre, who was sentenced to death for the murder of Gabriel. But the date for Pearl's ex-boyfriend's execution has yet to be set by the state of California.
