Traffic laws must always undergo changes and adaptations in order to fit the new needs of drivers, in addition to the system itself, which arise over time. The purpose of this is to seek more agility and security for everyone. Check below some transformations that can be seen with the new CTB rules.
1. point limit
One of the most commented topics in relation to the new CNH rules is related to tolerance for license suspension. In this sense, now, for the driver to lose the document, he needs to reach 40 points. However, this is not a fixed condition, that is, there are some situations that can change this rule.
In this way, it is established that, with two or more very serious infractions, the driver loses his license with 20 points; with just one very serious infraction, he loses with 30 points; and with 40 points, if it does not present any serious infraction.
2. Driver's License Validity
Another point worth highlighting due to changes in the rules is that the validity period of this document has also changed. As a result, all drivers under 50 now have a 10-year CNH validity period. Drivers aged 50 to 69 have a period of 5 years until the document expires, while people aged 70 and over must renew their CNH every three years.
3. child seat
The use of a child seat remains mandatory. However, the change is that this obligation applies to children up to 10 years old who are less than 1.45 m tall.
